Ambani convinced the people by saying that a normal beginning smartphones cost anywhere between Rs 3,000 and Rs 4,500, which is not affordable for the 50 crore people who still use normal phones with basic features.
Jio Phone for Free?
“Hence, RJI will make JioPhone available for free.” He added that the Rs 1,500 security deposit will be refunded and “so net-net users pay nothing for the mobile phone”.
According to media reports, RJI is in talks with iPhone assembler Foxconn to manufacture handsets. RIL has invested more than Rs 2 lakh crore in RJI, which has over 125 million customers on its network.In General, It means that a Jio Phone User will have to spend at least Rs.1500 per year on jio data plans.
The JioPhone come with a basic Rs 153 plan monthly plan. This will give users 512MB 4G data and unlimited VoLTE calls and messages.
