Dia Mirza –  New UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador reveals the fact behind not using Sanitary Pads when she is on her period.(Dia Mirza )

Speaking to NBT, she said that “She does this to protect the environment from the harmful effects of sanitary pads.”

Bollywood diva and Miss Asia Pacific speaks her hearts out and passes a significant and important message for everyone.

She said she does not use sanitary napkins during her periods.

“Sanitary napkins and diapers in our country are polluting the environment on a larger scale and that’s why during periods I have stopped using sanitary napkins. As an actor, if I am saying this then it is a big thing because we also promote sanitary napkins. Whenever I get offers of sanitary napkins promotions, I clearly deny them. “

What she said is very true and important. Menstrual pollution is also a part of environmental pollution.

The waste from sanitary napkins is really harming the environment which could lead to several problems.

She Further added:

“Now I use biodegradable napkins that get destroyed 100 percent naturally. In our country, women are using cotton during periods for a long time but now many options have come that are bad for the environment. The women in India should stop using sanitary napkins and should use protective and secured biodegradable napkins.”

Dia also said that “In place of regular sanitary napkins, she uses biodegradable napkins that do not leave carbon footprints.”

Dia Mirza even does not promote any sanitary napkin Ad. As she has refused many such ads.

“Using disposable sanitary napkins is still considered as a luxury in India as the majority of Indian women still do not have access to them. These sanitary napkins are stain-free, and long-lasting, hence a desirable product for all the menstruating women. But the flip side of the matter is that billions of these pads make their way into sewerage system and landfills every month, posing a huge risk to the environment.”

Dia Mirza has taken a big initiative! Now its time to move from sanitary napkin to environmental friendly napkins.Those napkins that are reusable and doesn’t cause any harm to our body.
